The Meaning Behind Mauna

In Sanskrit, the ancient language of India, and Yoga scriptures Mauna means "silence" and "peace of mind". In Hawaiian, it means "mountain". My brand represents the connection between these two meanings that define my lifestyle.

My connection to nature and flowers deepened over the years, and with it an appreciation of the small details and beauty of nature that lies in every corner.

During a trip to Tuscany, Italy, I came across beautiful flowers on the side of the road. In my bag, I had an illustrated notebook of Tuscan landscapes from a local store, and without giving it much thought, I decided to place the flowers in the notebook.

Ever since I began looking at flowers differently, each new bloom fills me with enthusiasm and inspires me to appreciate the beauty of nature even more. As a result, I developed a hobby of drying flowers without any specific purpose in mind, merely to preserve their beauty and overcome their short life span. Over time, I collected more and more flowers and started creating art for myself and my family.

Over time, my hobby became my profession.

I started growing various types of flowers, learning and getting to know them more closely. This deepened my appreciation of nature; each walk is an exciting opportunity to discover a new flower.

 

​Growing, picking, drying, and creating - all moments when time stops, and focus is solely on the flower. Flowers give me peace, presence, and appreciation for nature's beauty.

For me, art is the desire to create a piece that will emphasize the beauty of each flower, the charm of combining different flowers, and a design that will provide moments of joy and blossoming in every home, moments of observation and appreciation.
