About us

The name Mauna carries two meanings that reflect our philosophy. In Sanskrit, Mauna means silence and peace of mind; in Hawaiian, it means mountain. Together, they represent balance, nature and stillness.

Mauna Art began during a summer in Tuscany, Italy, inspired by the beauty and presence of flowers.

What started as a spontaneous moment, pressing flowers found along a quiet road into a local hand- made notebook, grew into a lasting passion for capturing nature’s details and preserving them through art.

Over the years, this curiosity became our craft. We studied and refined natural methods of pressing flowers, selecting each one carefully to keep its colour, shape, and character. Every kit and workshop we create reflects this journey, an appreciation for nature, attention to detail, and a wish to bring calm and creativity into everyday life.

Each flower begins its journey in nature, carefully grown, picked, in its perfect timing to preserve its most beautiful state.
Because every flower is unique and fragile, we treat each one with patience and precision, pressing it slowly over several weeks to preserve its natural color, texture, and form.
It’s a delicate process that captures beauty at its most fleeting moment, allowing the flowers to stay vivid and full of life long after they’ve bloomed.
